Pousada Camping Porto Grande

We got to know the camping as well as the inn, and found the grounds leafy and quiet, with great facilities and a lovely view. The owners welcomed us warmly and were attentive, friendly, and polite. On show days at P12, we could hear everything clearly since the camping is under 100 meters away. It didn’t bother us at all, though. We actually enjoyed hearing the shows.

We came to this camping looking for some peace among nature, and that’s not what we found. Loud music was already playing nearby when we arrived Saturday afternoon, and it went on until around 1:14 a.m. It got even louder at night, so I couldn’t sleep until it stopped. Then it started again at 8 the next morning. It was a nightmare! We were close to the shared kitchen and never got to the lagoon, which was on the other side of the property. We also thought the information about the place wasn’t clear enough. The camping does have good facilities, especially the kitchen. The women’s bathroom is spacious, but it wasn’t very clean and had a water leak. The electrical outlets were very old. There are lots of trees and little animals, and the beach is very close. Maybe we’ll come back during the week, if there’s no loud music. Then it might be worth it.

We came expecting to see the lagoon from the photos, and were disappointed to find it wasn’t right beside the camping. The place has good facilities, including bathrooms, a kitchen, fridges, freezers, sinks, a stove, tables, and a covered area. The camping pitches sit on terraced levels on a hillside, with grass at the top. Be careful if you don’t like loud music. The neighbors love to party, and music from the show venues plays almost 24 hours a day. The lower camping area and the kitchen felt a little neglected, and I got the impression the camping doesn’t get much use.

I ended up staying longer than planned because I liked the place so much. The owners, Claudinha and Marcão, were such welcoming hosts and treated me like family. It’s a lovely, peaceful property with fruit trees, little animals, a hot shower, and spotless cleaning. There’s also a lake on the grounds with a beautiful sunset view. It’s accessible, allows dogs, and serves breakfast. I really recommend it :)
