Great.

The place itself is quite old, though the building has a beautiful structure and could be lovely and pleasant with some renovation. Unfortunately, there’s no proper management, and the owner was rude to guests and staff. We saw the same booking mix-up that happened to us happen to other guests too. We had booked two rooms for seven days with family and friends. At check-in on the first day, we were told one of our rooms had been given to other guests. The owner suggested that the women and children in that group sleep on a mattress on the floor in the shared games room/kitchen for one night, until another room became free. She initially blamed the mix-up on my mother, who made the reservations, speaking too quietly on the phone. We refused to sleep on the floor in a common area, so the owner put us up at another hostel for the night. Even after that was sorted out, there were more problems. The owner argued with and disrespected guests and employees throughout our stay. Jaqueline, an employee, was the one who made things bearable. She was very friendly, helpful, and kind, but the owner fired her on our third day. The mattresses were extremely old. The double mattress in our room was practically right on the wooden base, so we didn’t rest properly during those seven days. When we went to pay the remaining balance before leaving, the card machine wasn’t working, and we had to pay by PIX instead of the card payment we’d agreed on.

The location is excellent, but I didn’t feel comfortable during our tense stay. There was no real management, and the owner argued with both guests and an employee in front of us. She was rude and disrespectful to them. One of our reserved rooms wasn’t available when we arrived, and she wanted to put my friends on mattresses in the games room. The mattresses were very old, and the one in the suite was so thin it felt like it was right against the bed frame. I didn’t have a good experience.
