The location and concept have potential, but the stay was frustrating enough that I'd want to see some updates and better organization before returning. The room door wouldn't stay shut unless the deadbolt was on, and that lock needed the one key provided. In a shared room, taking the key with you meant everyone else could get locked inside. There also weren't enough outlets, and Wi-Fi only worked now and then. The key setup didn't feel secure either. Guests had to leave keys at reception when they went out, but the keys were left unattended and anyone could reach them. Breakfast was very basic, with a limit of one of each item per person. Staff asked for our room number several times, even when we were sitting right in front of them, which felt unnecessary and a little uncomfortable. The property needs significant improvement in both upkeep and management.

I've stayed at beaches all over Brazil, including the northeastern coast, and pousada ykapê really surprised me. The hosts were incredibly courteous and made us feel at ease. Our room was good and, unlike many places I've stayed, it didn't smell musty. The property is clean and organized, with lovely pools and a good price. It's right across from the beach, with a supermarket next door. There's shaded parking, a spot to barbecue, and a sand volleyball area. You can also order food through an app and the inn allows it. If you'd rather have lunch there, their set meal is really good. pousada ykapê stands out from the others I've seen. I recommend it.
