Club MV Saco do Céu

The thing that really showed me how trustworthy this place is happened after I left: I forgot my wallet at the inn, and they looked after it responsibly, then even brought it all the way to me in Angra dos Reis. That says a lot about the people there. We also loved the food. It was fresh, delicious, beautifully presented, and every meal felt special. The place itself is lovely and has a great energy that makes it easy to switch off. From the start, the service was attentive and kind, and you can tell the team cares about their work. The hospitality, honesty, and warmth made the whole stay wonderful. I'd return without hesitation. Absolutely recommended.

Yan was the real highlight for us. I've stayed at plenty of hotels and inns around the world, and I've never met a staff member as capable, polite, calm, patient, good-humored, and clear at explaining things. He quickly sorted out everything we needed and asked about. I hope you get to meet him too. The Wi-Fi is weak, though. This inn is a good place to get away from the bustle Vila do Abraão has become. Don't come expecting to spend lots of time in that busy scene. An easy 15-minute trail walk takes you to the beaches at Saco do Céu on one side and Praia de Fora on the other, and both have restaurants. We liked Praia de Fora more. It's quieter, and the little spot where a river meets the sea is lovely. There's not much to the inn itself, but its restaurant has plenty of choices and costs quite a bit less than the restaurants on the nearby beaches. Breakfast has limited options, but everything was fresh and delicious. We loved it. Our room was very comfortable, with strong air conditioning and a lovely balcony. The shower was the weak point: barely any water came out, and the temperature swung from freezing cold to scalding hot.

One huge plus at Club MV was having power and air conditioning the whole time, even in January, when the island often has outages and many generators fail. We didn't have a single interruption, and that made a big difference. There’s no cell signal in the area, but Wi-Fi is available everywhere and works well enough. The staff were wonderful, and their tips helped make the whole trip unforgettable. Sr. Marcos and the team treated us with so much care. They picked us up in Abraão and took us back right on time for our transfer. When we mentioned hiking the Feiticeira trail, they offered us a ride. They also offered to take us to the floating restaurant for lunch and gave us the owner's contact. She was lovely and gave us a boat ride there and back. If you're staying here or visiting Saco do Céu, don't miss Felicidade's floating restaurant. The food was excellent, the drinks were wonderful, and the service was impeccable. We felt so welcome. We had a wonderful few days here, and I highly recommend it.
