The owners live right there and were so friendly and helpful. And the breakfast was amazing, with homemade cake and yogurt. Such a cozy place, I’d give it six stars if I could.

The location and breakfast were good, but that was about it. The room and services are very basic, and it feels a little expensive for what you get.

The staff were great, and breakfast was delicious. I found the place very comfortable.

Clean, tidy, and comfortable room.

The location is handy, about a two-minute walk from Igreja de São Sebastião and the village’s main restaurants, with markets nearby. The staff were friendly and attentive, and it was a lovely surprise to return from the beaches each day to a clean, fresh-smelling room. That isn’t a given at pousadas on the island. The shared spaces include a small TV room and the breakfast area. The rooms have the right amount of space for three, though they can feel small on rainy days when there isn’t much to do. They come with a ceiling fan, air conditioning, a minibar, and a TV with only a few channels. WiFi is available in the common areas and seems to work in rooms near reception, but farther rooms get no connection even when the signal shows up. The main drawback is the unpaved dirt street. Heavy rain can flood it and make it hard to get in or out. Prices are high, as seems to be the norm on the island, and there’s no water filter for guests, so you have to pay the steep prices for bottled water at the village markets. Still, it’s a lovely place to relax after a beach day or a long trail walk. I recommend it.
