Pousada Riacho dos Cambucás

The rooms are small, but we found them really comfortable, and the balcony with its hammock was lovely. Reception shared lots of useful tips over WhatsApp. The setting is beautiful, and when the rain came down hard, they kindly offered us towels and coffee. Just be aware that the path is sandy, so suitcase wheels won’t roll well in the rain. We absolutely loved our stay.

Ana made us feel welcome from the start and was so helpful. They arranged a boat tour for us and gave us hiking maps. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for, and we loved both breakfast and tea time. We had such a good stay and hope we can come back someday.

We liked how tucked away the pousada feels, even though restaurants are close by, and the green, peaceful surroundings are lovely. The staff provided impeccable service, and breakfast and afternoon tea were both really good. Their sustainability efforts are easy to see. Our only drawbacks were the uncomfortable beds and how clearly you can hear noise from the neighboring rooms.

A real jungle lodge feel, while still being close to local restaurants. It’s far enough from them to stay peaceful, too. Breakfast was great, though there weren’t many gluten-free choices. The helpful staff can book boat tours around Ilha Grande. Such a special place, I loved it.
