Pousada Rubi

We stayed for over a week. Check-in was smooth and the staff seemed friendly, but the rest of the stay was very disappointing. The rooms are small and not suitable if you need to work, and loud music kept us awake on several nights. The worst part was getting extremely sick after breakfast, likely from food poisoning. We had severe cramps and vomiting and were stuck in our room for two days. When we told the staff, they gave a simple apology, with no real follow-up or effort to make it right. That’s unacceptable for a hotel. Without those problems, it might have been a three-star stay, but the illness, the staff’s response, and the repeated noise justify one star. I wouldn’t return.

Gabi was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and very good, and the afternoon tea from 4pm was just as fresh. The rooms are clean and practical, and the bathroom was more modern than I expected. A great little Pousada right on Ilha Grande’s main beach.

The staff were the highlight of our four days here in August, so friendly, easygoing, and accommodating. The place is well maintained, and our clean room had good, quiet air conditioning. There’s a jacuzzi and sauna on the 1st floor. It’s right on the beach and close to some amazing restaurants on the island, including Lua e Mar. We loved it and would definitely come back.

Our room was excellent, with a sea view and a private jacuzi. The staff were kind, caring, and super helpful, and they spoke good English, which made everything easy. The location is perfect, beside the island’s best restaurant, Luna Mar, and a 5-10 minute walk from the main abraão pier. Highly recommend, 10/10. We’ll stay again. 🙌
