The location is good, with great restaurants nearby, and although the boat pier is a little farther away, walking there with backpacks was still fine. Our room was really tiny, and if you're booking through Booking, be aware the room descriptions weren't accurate for ours. I was pleasantly surprised that breakfast was included. It was nice, with toast, ham, cheese, juice, eggs, cake, yogurt, fruit and coffee.

Luana, who works there, was super friendly, helpful and kind. The room, though, was smelly and moldy, with power cuts and sometimes no water in the evening. A nightmare. Breakfast was so bad I'd rather have skipped it. There was only coffee and sugar water for orange juice, and I had to buy water to get down the super dry bread. What the hell?

It's very simple accommodation, but a really good price and it had everything I needed. Our room was clean, tidied daily, and even had amazing sea views, plus a fan and fridge. They provided towels, too. Breakfast was basic but filling: crackers, sliced bread and rolls, cheese and ham, granola, hot milk, coffee and fruit. The beach is just 10 steps away.

Praia Grande de Aracatiba is the best spot on Ilha Grande. The pousada is simple but really pleasant, with a nice atmosphere, a good breakfast, and a warm welcome. I definitely recommend it.
