There are a lot of stairs up to the rooms, and the power kept cutting out during our stay. The cleaning wasn’t good either. I was with friends, and the manager, Andrea, treated us terribly from the start, questioning why six men had arrived together. At 11 p.m. on our first night, we were playing cards and she wanted us to go to bed. We were the only hostel guests, and other people were awake too, getting ready to go out. On our last day, she wouldn’t let us leave our bags even though checkout was at 10 a.m. and we left at 10:20. I won’t return and can’t recommend it.

The view over all of Abrao is beautiful, and the place is well kept, very clean, and tidy. Andrea was attentive, and I really appreciated that. It’s near the beach, though close enough to hear the noise. Still, it’s a lovely spot to unwind.

Andrea is warm and attentive, and the inn has everything you need, including a very comfortable bed. We stayed in the place at the top. Getting up there is a workout, but the view makes the climb worthwhile. The location is great too, just a few blocks from the beach and the town center and port. I’d happily come back again and again!

The view is worth climbing the more than 70 steps to the house I rented. The owner is very attentive and nearby if you need anything, and the room was well equipped and clean.
