Casa da Arquiteta

There were cockroaches in this accommodation. We stayed over New Year's and had to leave early because of an infestation in the downstairs room. The place was very poorly cleaned. 👎👎👎 The host asked me not to say anything about the cockroaches so as not to ruin the business, but I'm here to tell the truth. Look at the photos.

The location was really good, with the waterfront just a short walk away. Bistrô malagueta is nearby too, a great restaurant I highly recommend. Its breakfast couldn't have been better, it was incredible.

I booked Casa da arquiteta through Booking, paid on the site, and had the reservation confirmed almost a month ahead. Then it was canceled without any explanation, even though our family's travel plans were already set. I suspect the inn got a better offer and dropped my paid booking. I still have the owner's confirmation and details sent through Booking. I can't recommend this place because of the way they handled it.

The house is well located, as the listings say, but it was badly maintained. There were cobwebs all over the room, dirty walls, stained sheets, and an old, heavily stained pillow. We booked two rooms, and one was full of mold. The service was awful. The owner asked us to book outside the platform and changed the agreed payment method before our arrival. She also had visitors making so much noise at night it felt like they might bring the house down. We complained, but nothing changed. We paid so much that, otherwise, I might have thought we were there begging for alms. People here don't even say good morning. Never again.
