Pousada Cahê

We arrived at 12:20 a.m. yesterday with our 9-month-old, and had booked two rooms. There were no towels or blankets in either room, even though it was cold. The fridge smelled awful and was filthy, the bathroom door wouldn't lock, and the double bed was made from two single beds of different sizes. The service was terrible. Before we arrived, reception gave us a number to contact with any problems. When we messaged about the missing towels and blankets, the reply just said our checkout was at noon. My husband asked at reception this morning and got the same response from the woman there. Really poor service.

I had a great stay overall. The shower and bathroom were good, the beds were comfortable, parking was easy, and the neighbors weren't a problem. My main issue was having to walk from my unit to another one every morning just to make coffee, since only that unit had a kitchen. There wasn't a nearby bakery serving breakfast, and the inn doesn't provide it either. I also found only one outlet in my room. A kitchen in the unit I stayed in would have made things much easier.

We were welcomed warmly right away, and the reception staff were lovely, polite, and always ready to help. There's also a beautiful waterfall almost on the same street. The inn itself is wonderful for the price, with clean, pretty, comfortable rooms. Our unit had access to a kitchen with everything we needed. If you're without a car, though, the beaches are quite a way off. You can walk, but it's a decent hike.

The reception was a real highlight. They were attentive, available whenever we needed them, and the room and bathroom were very clean. I wish the towels came sealed in laundry packaging, and having a mirror in the bathroom would have helped since there was only one in the bedroom. Bring insect repellent, there are lots of bugs on the island and around the inn too. Still, we had a very good stay. Thanks!
