Velinn Pousada Face Norte

The common areas were always clean and well looked after, and my room was tidy and spacious. It also had a kitchen area, which made a big difference. Breakfast was delicious and prepared with a lot of care. A special thank you to the whole team, especially Mina and Valdir, who were so attentive and friendly throughout my stay. They made it even more special. I’ll definitely return and recommend it without hesitation. My stay was simply wonderful!

The pool was the saving grace: it was good, beautiful, and heated. We stayed at the inn over the Carnival holiday, and my fiancé and I felt some basics needed improvement. Breakfast was the same for all three days, with ingredients that seemed much lower quality. The coffee was too strong and reheated, the sausage was bad, and the cakes and bread were dry. Towels were very limited for an inn with a pool, and they wanted to charge extra for more. They could provide one for the pool and one for bathing. The hair dryer was old, stopped working in my hand, and there wasn’t another one. The shower was very weak, and the bathroom cleaning fell short, with stained grout. The “parking” is on the inn’s sidewalk and fits four cars. I had to park on the street every day, so I don’t think they should advertise parking.

The hotel is well located, but the room’s AC leaked so much water it was like a shower. When I complained at reception, they asked if I wanted a bucket or for them to fix it. I also found a cockroach in the apartment. They moved me to a room without a kitchen, where I found another cockroach, and there was a larva in the fridge. My booking was for a Queen bed, but after the move I ended up with a double. The internet kept dropping, and construction work went on every day, taking away all the peace and quiet we’d come to relax.

I usually stay at Velinn when I’m on the island, but last time I chose Face Norte. The location is GREAT, very close to the ferry, bus stop, grocery store, pharmacy, and more, and the reception staff are polite and helpful. I loved the pool and the place itself. The breakfast wasn’t among the best compared with other Velinn locations, though, and the room had the same Velinn standard of things being way too old. We stayed in a chalet and the bed was quite comfortable, but the bathroom always stayed damp, which really bothered me. Anyway, thanks to the reception staff for all their help and politeness!
