Ebora Pousada

We left early Saturday morning, even though our plan had been to stay until Sunday. It was the worst experience I've had in Ilhéus, and I wouldn't return or recommend it to anyone, not even an enemy. The owner is very sweet, but one person can't manage everything alone. Being friendly doesn't make up for the cleanliness problems. The room and shared hall bathroom were filthy. In the room bathroom, the toilet had a disgusting crust at the bottom. The kitchen was so dirty that after seeing it, I couldn't bring myself to eat breakfast there. The room's interior was ugly, and the bathroom ceiling hadn't even been skim-coated. It was full of holes, which would be terrifying if you have issues with insects. The beds were in terrible condition, some in my room didn't even have legs. There was a piece of wood across my ribs under the “mattress,” and I woke up with my back locked up on the days I slept there.

Great reception and a good experience. I liked the place a lot, and the room felt really welcoming. I'll be coming back more often.

After a day and a half on the road from Brasília, we arrived in Ilhéus after booking a classic triple room a month ahead through Booking. The app confirmed it, and the property had also confirmed by WhatsApp. But at check-in there was nobody at reception. The door was open, and the place felt like a ghost hotel, completely empty. We called, knocked, and sent messages through WhatsApp and the app, but got no response. There was renovation work at the back, so we had to walk around the block and call out to a worker. They said they'd find someone to help and told us to wait at reception. We waited for hours. Nobody came, and more calls and messages got us nowhere. It was our first time in Ilhéus, we didn't know the area, and by after 4 pm we still had nowhere to stay. The inn is in a somewhat strange area with little activity. We eventually left and looked for somewhere else by chance. Thank God we found pousada Savoia, where we had an incredible stay for less than Ebora would have cost. Don't trust this place. They showed no responsibility or empathy toward guests. I strongly recommend pousada Savoia.

I wouldn't recommend it. The location was awful, and the room was dirty. The bathroom stank, and the old, dirty bedding was awful. There wasn't even a pillow or TV in the room, and toilet paper and soap were missing too. No parking and no breakfast either. Worst experience of my life!!!
