Pousada Brisa Mar

The view is so relaxing. I’d definitely come back.

The bathroom was especially unpleasant: it smelled strongly of urine, had no hand towel, floor mat, or soap, and water leaked from the shower enclosure. In the room, the minibar was off and its door seal was caked with dirt. The Wi-Fi kept cutting out, and the old bed was small, with a thin mattress and musty-smelling sheets. Getting to reception meant climbing stairs, and nobody offered to help with our bags. Breakfast was so poor that we had to ask for more cheese, and when we requested scrambled eggs, they brought fried eggs instead. The kitchen was messy and dirty. I wouldn't recommend this place, even for one night.

We were about an hour from the pousada when we called to check availability for that night. The owner herself said there was a room, so we booked it. We arrived, saw the room, filled out the registration form, then went out to get cash and something to eat since they don't take debit or credit cards. When we came back to pay and go to bed, we found out the only room left, the one we'd reserved, had been rented to someone else. We were furious and asked the receptionist to call the owner. When she arrived, she was rude and disrespectful. She said we hadn't left a payment guarantee, even though she had told us none was needed and sent us to the ATM. She insisted we were at fault and never apologized. We ended up sleeping at a pousada next door, and luckily weren't left out on the street. Terrible service. I don't recommend it. A really bad experience.
