Albergue Explorer - Hostel

We ended up canceling and were glad we did. After a long drive, we found the reception empty for almost two hours. We called booking.com and learned the hostel hadn’t handled our reservation properly and hadn’t updated its own booking system. The pool was filthy and unusable, and the room had an old-looking small double bed and a really bad smell. The atmosphere felt unfriendly, there were no services available, and no reception staff for guests.

The place has a lovely feel to it, with beautiful energy, a great location, and really nice people.

We arrived to find that our room still wasn’t ready, even though we’d booked it more than three months ahead. We had to wait 20 minutes. Once we got in, we saw there was no window. The opening was there, but the window had been removed and never replaced, leaving a big gap open to the woods where animals could get in. It was raining hard in Rosa, so we were exposed to wind, rain, cold, and insects. We’d booked a room for five, but there was only one double bed and one single bed. The room was also in unsanitary condition. There was no breakfast or daily cleaning, despite what had been promised. The location was poor too, far from everything and reached by several steep hills. The new owners seemed completely unprepared and unwilling to help. They left the place with an employee and disappeared, without taking action or giving us any explanation. We had planned our New Year so carefully, and those days turned into a huge disappointment. I wouldn’t book here. It wasn’t fit to stay in, with no cleaning, care, Wi-Fi, or basic respect for guests.
