Pousada Cacau Praia Do Rosa

We had a really happy family stay, and I’d come back. We were a couple, one teenager, and two kids, staying in a chalet with two bedrooms, a bathroom, living room and kitchen, barbecue, and balcony. The sheets smelled lovely, the double room had air conditioning, and the other room had a fan and extractor. We went in December, when the weather was mild and sleeping was pleasant, with hardly any mosquitoes. The bathroom was good, and when the shower broke on the first day, they replaced it right away. The place is simple, relaxing, and well cared for, and I felt at home. I did miss having a hammock at our chalet. I’m not a fan of dim lighting, though I can see it’s meant to make things calm and cozy and encourage an early night. A brighter white light in the kitchen would be useful. I was told about the pet fee when I arrived. I hadn’t noticed it while booking, but it was listed there. My little dogs had a great time, happily meeting all the people and other animals.

God forbid I ever go back. The owners clean up your things without permission and throw them away while you’re in the pool. They also complain about music. They called the police twice, but nobody came. They’re rude and arrogant, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. You can be enjoying yourself and end up in handcuffs at 3 in the afternoon just for listening to music. The rules are posted clearly, but you don’t feel free there. If you’re a group of eight, staying silent isn’t realistic. If you want no noise, rent somewhere in the woods far from the beach, with only birdsong. Praia do Rosa has plenty of inns with polite owners who don’t call the police to intimidate guests. Be careful, they want to call the police over anything. What a horrible place, the worst inn in Praia do Rosa.

I do not recommend this inn. We were a group of friends talking by the pool with some background music at around 4 pm. There’s a big sign saying quiet hours start at 9 pm, so we weren’t breaking the rule. The owner, Sr. Santiago, took issue with it and called the police, who never showed up. It’s a shame, because I really wanted them to come. He was arrogant and tried to kick us out. When we refused to accept that, he lost it. We weren’t doing anything wrong. For that and other reasons, my rating is zero. Pousada Rosa da Praia is awful. Just a heads-up.

The inn is attractive, very well located near the area’s town center, and the service was excellent. There’s a barbecue area and a good kitchen where you can have breakfast or cook. A couple of things need attention: light coming into the room was bothersome, so blackout curtains would help. Some wooden furniture looked old, and two pieces around the pool were breaking apart and could put people at risk.
