Pousada Marina do Rosa

The street around the inn is in very poor shape. We weren’t greeted when we arrived, and after waiting with nobody showing up, we opened the gate and went in ourselves. The apartments were supposed to have air conditioning, a coffee maker, and a dishwasher, but none of those were there. Cleaning in the room wasn’t great, especially behind the curtain, and the pool was unusable, with completely green water. Other than that, everything was okay.

It offers a basic level of comfort. Given the price, I could overlook the lack of bedding and the air conditioning that’s there but can’t be turned on. The pool is a different matter: even though the inn’s description says there’s a pool, the water isn’t suitable for swimming, so you can’t get in.

I’d call it a kitchenette apartment more than an inn. I think it can fit up to six people. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom, plus a kitchen with a fridge, stove, and cupboards. There’s also a utility sink and clothesline, enough for a small load of laundry.

A quiet apartment with everything you need, plus green space, parking, and a pool. The location is excellent too, and even on the busiest summer days you can do almost everything on foot. A 10 out of 10 inn.
