Room 1204 had little ants all over it, and the cleaning routine was never explained. They just rang the bell at any time of day, and that sound could give anyone a heart attack. The key also stopped working every time after they cleaned, so I had to go down to reception more than five times to have it unlocked. The TV and air conditioning were painfully slow. A turtle would win a gold medal in a race against them. Before arriving, I called to make sure everything was ready. I prefer hotels where staff speak at least one of the three languages I know. Expedia, my preferred site for booking flights and hotels, listed both English and Portuguese as languages spoken here. When I called about check-in, they said they didn't have anyone who could help or communicate with me. At first I didn't think much of it, but during my stay, all the guidelines, policies, menu, and other information were in English, yet nobody spoke English. It gave me a strong sense of false advertising. I've stayed in 3 star hotels in other countries, such as Westin, and this “4 Star” hotel fell well short of my expectations. They didn't explain laundry timing either. I paid extra for express service, which was supposed to mean same-day delivery, but my clothes weren't delivered the next day. I had to call to find out they were at reception. My flight home was that day, so I rushed downstairs to collect them and pack. My checkout was set for the afternoon, but at 12:30 P.M. I got a call saying I should have checked out an hour earlier and had one hour to leave. It felt like I was being kicked out. The Wi-Fi was disconnected as soon as I checked out, leaving me with no way to contact Uber for a ride to the airport. Luckily my girlfriend had data and shared it. Nobody even asked if I wanted an airport ride, something most hotels offer. The breakfast and restaurant area was colder than Alaska. By the time you get warm food to the table, it's already frozen. I'd rather sleep in the trash area outside than stay inside here again. That little spot seemed more welcoming. I wouldn't recommend the hotel. It advertises itself as “4 Star,” but to me it has 1 star service and 1 star facilities.
