Malia Beach Experience

Surreal.

The flat was spotless, tidy, and cozy, and Manu, our host for flat 113B, was attentive from start to finish. We’d definitely come back. The resort itself was great too, with wonderful facilities, lovely pools, a very good breakfast, and helpful service from the team overall. The one bad moment was at the tapioca station. There were four of us, and we each placed our order separately. The employee seemed quite grumpy and complained about our orders, the griddle, and even being out of coconut. I don’t know her name. That was the only negative part of our stay.

It was a quiet, pleasant place with a family feel. The flat is well located, close to the natural pool area though not right in front of it. We had a rental car, and after driving 3 km we were at the natural pool area of muro alto. There’s a high-service minimarket inside the flat, and an empório supermarket nearby if you need more choices, like cold cuts. The pool area was nice and not very deep, so it works well for kids. There’s also a court, games area, and barbecue. I didn’t try the restaurant, so I can’t comment on the food. The flat had kitchen utensils, but no iron or hairdryer. The gym was a letdown, as it is in many hotels, and very basic. Since that matters to me, I gave it four stars.

The hotel restaurant really adds to the stay. The food is good quality and fairly priced, and the staff are friendly and provide excellent service. Congratulations to the whole team at Malia Beach. I hope to return soon. There’s plenty here for a happy time with family or friends, including a games room, pool, gym, restaurant, and rooftop.
