The tapiocas were delicious, and Suzy made them with so much care. I really loved them, and I’m grateful to her. The resort has excellent facilities, great rooms, and lovely pools. One thing they should change is asking guests at the breakfast entrance every day whether breakfast is included. It feels distrustful and disorganized, and isn’t appropriate. They also need to pay closer attention when changing the bedding: my pillow had a lipstick mark and hadn’t been replaced. The playroom was hot, and you have to cross the whole resort to get the air conditioner remote. Apart from that, the facilities were great and it was an excellent experience.

The pool was the highlight: it’s spacious, clean, and the water is always warm. Being able to use it until 10 pm was a big plus. Our room was great, with a balcony overlooking the pool, and housekeeping did a very good job. We also liked the 24-hour convenience store in the complex. The restaurant is run by a contractor and felt very disorganized. Food always took a long time, and the staff weren’t welcoming. Breakfast started right at 7 am, which could be earlier for people heading out on tours. It was also hard to find a clean table. Staff rarely cleared them after guests, and one day I cleaned a table myself. I liked the resort, especially its facilities, but the restaurant and service really fell short. They need to improve the service quite a bit.

The breakfast space felt too small for the number of guests, and during Carnival we had to queue for food. The rooms were okay, though they could use some decoration. It’s a new hotel, two blocks from the beach. That stretch is rocky and faces the open sea, so it’s not a nice beach, and you have to walk quite a way to reach a better one.

The pool was the one good point. My family and I picked Malia because of the photos and location, but if I’d read the reviews, I’d probably have booked somewhere else. The restaurant was disorganized and breakfast was chaotic. One day they even ran out of coffee. Staff would clear things while we were still eating. I got up to get a piece of cake, and when I came back they’d taken my half-full coffee cup, even though my things were still on the table. My mother needed something to eat at night after the restaurant had closed. There’s a 24-hour convenience store, but nowhere to heat food, and reception didn’t help us either. The room cleaning was careless too. I even had to ask the person in charge for toilet paper.
