Porto Alto Resort - GAV Resorts

We were staying at a nearby house and only wanted to see the beach, but the day was ruined. The trouble started as soon as we arrived by car: the parking price jumped from 10 to 30 reais per car. GAV workers then followed us around and kept pushing us toward their restaurant. We wanted to try barraca da Ana, which had been recommended to us, but they repeatedly put it down and insisted we go to theirs. After all the trash talk about the smaller vendors and the ongoing pressure, we gave in. The prices were outrageous, and the food was awful. Even the fries were poor, and every appetizer we ordered was bad. After trying those, we paid the high bill and left. You could get the best restaurant in the city for less. While we were there, staff kept asking about our income and assets, which made the whole situation extremely uncomfortable. They also try to funnel you into a presentation where they pitch a quota in their project. They never left us alone long enough for the family to enjoy ourselves. If you go to muro alto, expect intense harassment, expensive prices and low-quality food. The small vendors offer better service, cheaper prices and better food. DO NOT GO!
