Summerville All Inclusive Resort

I’d only done all-inclusive stays abroad before, so I was unsure what the quality would be like in Brazil. The service, food, facilities, all of it completely blew me away. We spent six days there, and I could easily have stayed longer. They’ve figured out how to keep kids entertained while giving adults room to enjoy themselves too, which you don’t find everywhere. I loved it.

The food was amazing, and they even made a phenomenal custom meal my wife had been wanting to try. The facilities were great too, and we loved our beachfront cabana. Staff were helpful, getting around was easy, and the location was a reasonable distance from town, which turned out to be bigger and nicer than I expected. The beach right there is rocky and coral, fun to look at, but you need to walk a few minutes down the shore for soft sand and nice waves. It’s not far, and the beach is amazing.

The service really stood out during our four-night getaway in early June. Everyone we met treated us with care and professionalism, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The rooms and grounds were very well maintained, and there’s a great pool and other recreation facilities. Summerville may not be the flashiest or most up-to-date resort, but it felt well worth the money. There were so many tasty dishes and desserts in the main dining room that choosing could feel overwhelming. The made-to-order pasta was a favorite, especially both the red and white sauces. The food and the chefs seemed a few notches above average. At Peperone Cusina Italiana, dinner felt like a five-star experience. Our waiter Silvado was kind and respectful, checked on us several times, and offered seconds. We had to decline politely because the entrees were already quite large. Silvado is a rockstar, with people skills and service that deserve a raise or promotion. We left with an unforgettable, pleasant vacation.

The setup works especially well for families with little kids. There’s a restaurant just for parents with small children that opens half an hour before the adults’ restaurant and serves food with mild seasoning that’s kid-friendly. Dedicated staff keep children company and organize things like scavenger hunts and games. The hotel includes breakfast and an all-you-can-eat dinner. At check-in you can pay extra for all-you-can-eat lunch, but I didn’t think it was needed since room-service lunch or food by the pool are options. The accommodations were great too, with a few bungalows close to the beach. The beach is accessible from the hotel, only a few feet from the pool area, and beach chairs and umbrellas are provided. The shore right in front is good for kids because a coral reef barrier about 20 meters out creates natural pools without currents or strong waves. The ocean floor is coral as well, so everyone should wear beach shoes.
