Watching the surfers from the open lobby was one of the best parts, with the beach right there. Breakfast had lots of tasty local options, and our room was clean and comfy. The staff were so friendly and helpful. A real dream of a spot, whether you're traveling alone or looking for somewhere romantic as a couple. We'll definitely come back.

My wife and I spent seven days at Sage Point over the December 2024 – January 2025 New Year’s holiday, and had a fantastic time. The owner, Anna, is usually around chatting with guests. She has lived in Itacare for 30 years, speaks fluent English, Portuguese and Spanish, and built this place from her own imagination. Its rustic tropical style, with native wood and stone paths, feels like a work of art. The rooms have hammocks on their decks, lovely beds with mosquito netting, large doors opening onto the balconies, and air conditioning if you want it cold. The mosquitoes exist but weren't bad. We liked leaving the doors open to hear the waves. There are little fridges with water and beer. You can drink the tap water, in my view. I'm an environmental engineer who designs and builds water treatment plants. Bathrooms are roomy, with big showers and plenty of warm water. It all has the same native wood look, like Robinson Caruso on a deluxe tropical island. Any room type should be a good choice. Breakfast runs until 10:30 am. Depending on the season, it's either a tropical buffet or food made to order and brought to the table by cheerful, friendly kitchen staff. The big kitchen is very clean, and you can watch the uniformed staff prepare fruit, omelets, bread and cakes. Tables are made from huge slabs of native wood, with comfortable chairs and cushions. The breakfast area looks out over the beach, reefs and jungle. The setting is beautiful and right on the edge of a public beach, about 50 feet from the water. City crews clean the beach each night, so it was pristine in the morning, with umbrellas appearing as people arrived. Even at the peak of holiday season, it never seemed crowded or unruly. We saw groups playing foot volley, surfers paddling around and people sunbathing. Sage Point has free reclining beach chairs at the edge of the sand. Just go down the steps, pick one up and walk about 20 feet to the beach. There are also simple open air restaurants along the street, plus stands selling chilled coconuts for $1.50. Downtown is about 900 feet away, an easy and safe walk over wide cobblestone streets and a few gentle hills. We took the route every night, sometimes as late as 2:00 am, and always felt safe. We'd often see other couples walking hand in hand back to their pousadas. I wholeheartedly recommend Sage Point as an outstanding tropical bed-and-breakfast and a fantastic value for the money.

We had a wonderful vacation here. The place and its location are gorgeous, the staff are excellent, and breakfast was delicious every day.

Set right on Tiririca beach, this place has magnificent views and feels like a Robinson Crusoe hideaway, with a wooden structure tucked among lush tropical plants. The room was comfortable and everything worked, including the air conditioner, gowns, mini fridge and hairdryer. Breakfast was very good, with vegan options, and it's pet friendly. The staff are lovely.
