Serpa Hotel

Awesome.

I stayed with my husband yesterday, in apt 18, and really liked the old architecture. The woman in the kitchen was so friendly and offered us eggs. I loved everything and will be back soon.

We stayed in room 16, from July 16 to 17, 2022. The staff were attentive and polite, especially the person who helped us at breakfast. The bathroom was clean and fine, the hot shower was perfect, and the minibar worked perfectly. Wi-Fi was only fair, though that's a problem across the whole city. The hotel is well located near banks, ATMs, restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacies, general shops, and the waterfront. Breakfast was basic but had a good variety. The pool was dirty, with grime on the bottom and floating in the water, and the area around it needs attention too. The hotel urgently needs paint in several places. Our room had dirty walls and damp stains near the entrance door. The box beds, at least ours, were old, marked with dirt, and torn in several spots. It wasn't a terrible stay, but it could have been better. If they fix the paint and cleaning issues, this could be an excellent option. For a short stay when you just need somewhere to sleep and rest, it's reasonable for the price. For a longer family stay, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. On our next trip we'll choose another hotel, since for what we paid, we can choose somewhere that offers us a better extra.

The rooms and bathrooms are clean, and breakfast is tasty. Getting to the rooms is a bit awkward, though. The space is very narrow, and tall people have to duck on the stairs to avoid hitting their heads. I was carrying a baby and had to turn sideways to get in. When you book, say how many people are coming, since the rate is per person, not per room.
