The charge for bringing my three small Maltese dogs would have been R$ 300,00 a day, with no extra service included. Since the total for my three-night booking was R$ 897,00, that felt completely out of proportion for a place advertised as pet friendly. I chose an apartment over a hotel partly to avoid hassle and have more comfort for my pets and me. I asked if there was room to discuss the fee, but the only reply was that I could keep or cancel the booking. I canceled. I found a house on Airbnb for the same total price, with a very welcoming and polite host, plenty of space, and no pet fees. The listing should clearly explain these charges, and they should make sense for the animals' size and the service provided. Check the pet policy and costs before booking to avoid an unpleasant surprise. This was frustrating.

I've stayed in other rooms here before, but this one was disappointing. The furniture and chairs were stained, one chair had a broken seat, and the rug was filthy. The walls were dirty, and a ceiling light was missing in the bathroom. The TV didn't work, and the air conditioner remote had no display, so setting a milder temperature was impossible. Overall, it fell short.

The apartment was very good and the location was great. I was also helped quickly when I reported the cleaning problems, but the bedding hadn't been changed before I arrived. There was dirt, hair and dust on the floor, the sofa needed vacuuming, and there was urine grime under the toilet seat. They should pay closer attention to these details. The stay was still worthwhile, and I'd consider coming back if they take better care with the cleaning.

I've stayed here twice. The apartment is great, and cleaning and everything else were good, but it gets VERY cold. I slept badly the first time. On my second stay we got a place with a heater, though it was only in the bedroom. If you're not used to living somewhere cold, that's an issue. It is still worth it. There's no person at the entrance, just a code, but Itajubá feels calm and safe.
