Really nice!

We stayed in room 10, my wife was five months pregnant, and our son was three. We knew the hotel was basic, but some essential things made the stay really uncomfortable. The bed was uneven and made for a rough night. Light came into the room, so it badly needs a blackout curtain. The TV barely worked: when we could get a channel, there was static. The bathroom was spacious and clean, but the shower door wouldn't close. Nobody serviced the room during our stay, so the rubbish piled up. Getting to the rooms was also awkward, with narrow corridors and a tight staircase with high steps. Breakfast was very basic. The juices were watered down, the bread was soggy and clearly from the day before, and the gelatin looked like sago.

This was easily the worst place I've ever stayed. From reception, we passed a hall full of packaged bidets, crossed a small, dirty-looking open courtyard, then climbed two flights of narrow stairs with unusually high steps. Going up was tiring and coming down felt dangerous. Our room was 3x3, with a strange step in the middle leading to the bathroom. It was so cramped that the bed was against the wall. I slept on that side, and only my husband's body kept me from rolling off because the mattress sloped so badly toward the wall. The soap smelled awful. A bar of coconut soap would have been better. Breakfast was dreadful, with very little choice and poor quality food. We barely ate. Then, although we hadn't complained about anything, we told sr. Celso at reception that we had to leave at 10 for a wedding at 10:30, and couldn't get back by the noon checkout, so we'd need a late checkout. He said no. We asked how much extra time he'd allow, and he said we had to leave at noon. This was Saturday, November 22, 2025, the day before the holiday weekend ended. It obviously wasn't true, but even if it had been, any hotel in Brazil, from five stars down to this zero-star place, gives at least an hour's grace. We ended up slipping out of the church during the ceremony to return and collect our bags in time. We had checked in at 9 the previous night, so we'd only spent 15 hours there, and that didn't seem to count for anything. I also forgot to mention the very noisy ceiling fan and the lack of outlets for charging a phone. We had to use the bathroom outlet.
