I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this place. The pictures gave a completely misleading idea of what it was like, and the people responsible seemed unprepared to host guests or treat them with basic respect. We’d booked and paid for a night, arrived at 8 in the morning, and left our bags before going out. Check-in was supposed to start at 2 p.m. An unexpected delay came up, so we called to say we’d be late. When we got back around 1 a.m., they refused to let us in. They rudely collected our bags and threw us out. We were two women alone in the middle of the night with nowhere to go at that hour. It was humiliating, and they showed us no care or consideration at all. My rating is zero, and I’ll never recommend the place.

The inn has a lovely view, a rustic feel, and boat crossings make it easy to get to other beaches. The attendants were warm and attentive, and breakfast was included, with a tasty, varied selection of regional food. This was our second visit, my boyfriend and I had such an easy time on the first trip that we came back. This time, though, the room felt more welcoming than our first one, but the water still smelled bad. The bed creaked whenever we moved, and there were so many mosquitoes that we couldn’t sit outside at dusk. We ordered dinner, but the portion was tiny and the food wasn’t good. Menu prices also seemed far too high for the quality. They do have a restaurant, but they let guests bring their own food and drinks into the room, which is what we did. The inn’s quality has dropped a lot over the past year. I hope they improve the service, because the place has a lot going for it and could be much more enjoyable.

The one thing I liked was the pretty view. The inn itself is old and shabby, with exposed bathroom pipes and water that smelled awful, which I think came from the river. Even the toilet paper was poor quality. Rusty old barbed wire was scattered around the outdoor area, including on the ground. There was a power outage in some rooms on our first night, and we couldn’t sleep in the heat until 5 a.m. The outside pier had only been painted over. Its wood was so rotten that two people nearly got hurt when part of it broke as they stepped off the boat. There’s no breakfast, and the only things sold there are beachwear and a few trinkets. You have to bring in everything you want to consume, even water.
