Pousada Sol e Lua

Great.

The afternoon check-in was the biggest problem for us. We arrived to find the pousada locked, with nobody there, and waited on the sidewalk with our bags for 20 minutes. My husband had messaged hours earlier to say we were on our way. Over the next few days, it seemed the owner often left the place locked for hours, which made me feel a bit abandoned. For the price, the basic setup is fair, and with more care and investment it could be one of the best in the area, given the views and room and bathroom sizes. Our simple room had a balcony facing the sea, with one of the best views in Maragogi. At many other pousadas, restaurants block the sea view, but Pousada Sol e Lua has an unobstructed one. You just cross the street to reach the sand. The room was a good size, with a double bed, two pillows, and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was very basic: couscous, eggs, sausage, two cakes, two kinds of bread, plain croissant, cheese and ham, plus two fruits. One morning there wasn’t even couscous, eggs, or sausage, lol.

It’s a simple pousada, but clean and well organized, and breakfast was good. The only downside was the Wi-Fi, which didn’t work.

The location is excellent, and the place itself is simple, clean, and pleasant. Breakfast was 10/10. There’s no parking, but that’s common around here since usually only the larger hotels and resorts have it. What bothered me was the neighbors leaning on cars and even sitting on the hood. The street is close to the beach, so the car picks up a light layer of dust and sand, and that behavior caused a few tiny scratches. Since it was a rental, I chose not to stress over it. I recommend the place, but don’t park your car out front.
