Villa Manary

Great.

It’s simple, but cozy. The owner is really friendly. I loved it and would come back again.

We slept terribly for all three nights. The twin beds were pushed together to make a double, which was really uncomfortable, and the soft mattresses had a dip in the middle that left us with bad back pain. The poor-quality sheets kept coming loose, and we woke up several times on the bare mattress. The kitchen was so badly equipped we could barely make coffee. Other guests had loud speakers going all day and night, and the owners didn’t ask them to turn it down, so we could hardly sleep. Then early in the morning, kids were shouting at the pool with the music loud again. It was a bad experience, and I don’t recommend it.

The inn’s facilities were in line with what we paid, and it was good value. The owners were very kind to me, and I met Seu Valdir, the inn’s handyman. I ended up spending the day with him, and he showed me all the little spots around Forte Orange. That was easily the highlight of my trip. The only issue was getting there, since the location is a bit hard to reach. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re traveling alone without a car.
