Pousada Gomes

The entrance could be cleaner, and they don’t provide their own food, like lunch or coffee. The rooms are comfortable, tidy, and clean, though, and the staff are great. They also have UniTV without making you create an account. It’s a pousada, so it won’t have as many facilities as a hotel, but Gomes offers guests a lot of nice things, which is already a big plus.

Honestly, I judged the place by its exterior, and I should have stuck with that first impression. They’re doing construction, and the rooms seem pleasant until you wake up at 4 a.m. with a leak dripping on your head. Breakfast is a postcard feature of an inn or hotel, but the area was so disorganized, and it looked like the flies were part of the menu. There’s a lot to improve. The room has everything, but I’d suggest getting one on the ground floor. They didn’t even try to move us to another room, and there was nobody at reception to deal with it, so I had to call. Customers are the business’s biggest advertisement.

Very comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was good too. I didn’t stay for breakfast, but we ordered pizza from the place they recommended. It cost 60 reais and was well worth it. Lots of cheese, quite floppy, but really tasty.

I only have good things to say. The staff were welcoming and pleasant, the room was clean, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. I thought the price was good and very affordable for what they offer. We’ll be back soon. A great experience.
