We went to the restaurant as a big group of friends. The setting is nice and the waiters are very friendly, though service took a while. The meat and fish dishes were quite good, but I can't recommend it for vegetarians because there are so few choices. I asked for a salad and was told it could have tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, avocado and mango. The first one arrived with only tomatoes and lettuce, without the avocado or mango. I asked again for the ingredients they had promised, and the next salad had avocado but still no mango. The bill listed mango anyway, which was disappointing. If you're veggie, you may want to try somewhere else.

We waited 45 minutes for drinks even though it wasn't busy. We've been waiting over 1.5h for food too, while everyone else has already got theirs. Very disappointing.

I was there for 10 days for a kitesurf camp organized by PKS. The beach boys handle pumping the kite, setting the lines, launching and landing, and even rescue if there's an accident. They made the whole place feel so welcoming that I felt at home, and after a couple of days they already knew everyone's name in our group. The staff were friendly and helpful, even though not everyone spoke English. That was never a problem with such warm people. The location was fantastic, but watch out for low tide and lots of beginner kiters around. My room was clean and spacious, but noisy, probably because of the AC converters. I had a great breakfast, lunch and dinner there. I loved it so much I wished I could stay longer.

I've stayed at Barraca do Kite twice, and both visits were fantastic. Rohann, the kite manager, took us on some killer downwinders, among the best I've done. The Kite House crew work hard pumping kites, walking out lines, and launching and landing them, always with a smile. Most of the staff speak several languages and are incredibly friendly. Laura at the front desk is really talented. The food was great, especially the included breakfast. I'm planning two weeks at Barraca do Kite next year.

A great spot for a longer stay, with a nice kitchen. The beach boys hook up, launch, bring in and store your kite, so all you have to do is ride.
