The sheets smelled awful and looked used, so we asked to have them changed. The owner's son did it with a disgusted look, as if he were doing us a favor. We had booked two nights but didn't even stay one. When we asked for at least half our money back, the owner refused, didn't acknowledge any of the inn's problems, and brushed off our complaint by saying there were other inns nearby. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned, and the kitchen looked like it hadn't been maintained in years. The old minibar smelled like cat urine. Right when we arrived, an older woman treated us badly, and the room had a horrible smell of mold and urine. We won't come back or recommend it. The worst inn we've ever stayed at.

I stayed because I'd already paid in full, but this needs to be addressed urgently. I hope this feedback helps the inn improve. I don't like posting a review like this, but staying quiet could leave other people dealing with the same thing, and nobody deserves that. This was in December 2025. In both rooms, the bedding was dirty and wrinkled, and it was obvious the old sheets had been left on after the rooms were cleaned. We complained straight away. When the staff member came to change them, she asked me to point out the dirt. I showed her marks and stains on the comforter. She replaced it with a light colored sheet, but once we turned on the light that night, we could see stains on that too. I bought Lysoform spray in town and used it on everything. I bought two cushions to use as pillows and covered myself with the warm sweater I'd brought.

I was especially looking forward to the location, but the stay didn't quite live up to my expectations. There were cats at reception, where breakfast is served, and they came into our room during the introduction. The room smelled strongly of cats and of being shut up. The power went out overnight and still hadn't come back by morning. I was also disappointed about the hot tub. I was told over WhatsApp that it would be available during the day, but when I arrived, they said it was only available in the afternoon. Since I checked out at noon and had arrived late, hoping to use it in the morning, it wasn't worthwhile.

Maromba is very quiet at night, with nowhere to go, so you have to drive down to Maringá for its little center with bars and restaurants. The roads are unpaved and extremely dusty. Visconde de Mauá is really for people looking for peace and quiet. The inn itself is beautiful, surrounded by green and fresh air, and the view from the pool is fantastic. The staff were attentive, the room was clean, and guests can bring their own food and drinks, including coolers and snacks to the pool. The room lighting is dim, though, and there's only one outlet near the pillow. We also had a problem with the bed. One leg was broken, and it seemed like the inn already knew but had turned that side toward the wall, as if no one would notice. When someone lay down, it sank. We complained, but the place was full, so my husband wedged pieces of firewood under it. At breakfast, he really liked the bread pudding on the first day, but on the second day it tasted sour and made him sick. Glad we were only there for a weekend. We stayed in August 2025.
