Pousada Nó da Madeira

We liked everything about the inn except how the reservation was handled when we had to leave early. We were meant to stay five nights, but my husband got the flu and was bedridden on the second day, so we couldn’t do any outings in the area and decided to go home. I asked the owner to change the booking and refund some of what I’d paid, which wasn’t cheap. She refused, saying the reservation had been made through booking. I didn’t leave just because I felt like it; his illness was unexpected. It was a shame that Fernanda wouldn’t refund anything.

The place is so beautiful, and the inn itself, with all its nature, is already worth the trip to Vale das Cruzes. Such an amazing experience. I definitely recommend it!

Fernanda, who runs the inn, got me all the information I needed right away. The river within the property is a real bonus, and Lindinha is such a sweet little dog who takes you to see the natural pool and river. My husband and I loved it and would absolutely recommend staying here. The chalet was spotless and in perfect condition, the breakfast was excellent, and the outdoor area was beautifully kept with a wonderful view.

The breakfast brought to the room was incredible, and everything else was excellent too. It’s a peaceful place with great facilities, and every cent felt worth it. I’d gladly come back. My one complaint is that room service, like making the bed and changing the trash, costs extra. Most inns don’t charge for that, and since Nó da madeira only has five chalets and the nightly rate isn’t exactly cheap, I think it could be offered as a courtesy to guests.
