Pousada Nova Conquista

The pousada is being renovated, and our room was a worrying choice for my 73-year-old mother. The path to it had no lighting, so we used my phone flashlight to help her avoid a fall. The floor was very uneven, with raised sections from the work, even though other rooms were available. They only moved us after the electric shower stopped working. They even tried calling an electrician to keep us in that awful room.

I left feeling disappointed and sad after what was meant to be a vacation. They put me in an old chalet with old, broken furniture. The shower wouldn’t give hot water, the bathroom sink was clogged, and there weren’t enough outlets. It was set apart from the other rooms and surrounded by trees, so lots of mosquitoes got into the room. No room service came, and I had to go out myself to find toilet paper. The photos show their best rooms, which may really be good, but I wouldn’t recommend staying in this chalet.

It’s very close to the center, which is good. But the pousada seems old and is very expensive. There were lots of cockroaches in my room, and the pool is tiny for the number of rooms.

The rooms are great, and it’s a lovely pousada. I just wish there were more wall outlets for charging a phone, plus a little table by the bed to put the TV remotes on.
