Pousada Rancho Das Framboesas

The place itself is beautiful, well cared for, and the chalet was one of the most comfortable I've stayed in. The setting and location are lovely for a relaxing weekend, and breakfast, prepared by Lili, tasted good. Still, the hospitality was a real letdown, especially after reading the positive comments about the hosts. Rony tried to make conversation but could be curt. When I arrived, I asked whether he'd put the requested utensils in chalet Athena and got snapped at. Lili also seemed quite cold. They offered to iron my clothes if I brought them on a hanger at breakfast, but when I handed them to her, she started complaining. The heated pool water was a little cloudy, and, worse, the whirlpool wasn't heating. Rony checked and found a problem with the heater, then just said, "I'm sorry about the tub," and walked away. He didn't try to work out a solution, which felt very insensitive. The next morning he asked when we'd check out. We said around 11:50, and he replied rather bluntly that he needed the chalet at noon, though I already knew the rules. When I returned the keys, he asked if I'd liked the stay. I said, as much as possible, yes, but I was disappointed about the tub. He only answered, "These things happen." I wouldn't return because of the way we were treated, even though the inn is comfortable, attractive, and very well maintained.

Our stay last weekend exceeded what we expected. It's a beautiful, peaceful place, with clean, airy rooms, comfortable bed and bath linens, and hot showers. The hosts were great, and breakfast came with cakes and breads made by Lili. She and Roni also spent time chatting with guests. We had a really good experience and recommend it.

The pousada sits on the little road between Visconde and Maringá, in Vale do Pavão, with lovely mountain weather and nature all around. Roni and Lili put a lot of care into the place, from the bed, sheets, and room setup to the delicious breakfast Lili prepares. There are thoughtful extras too, like an umbrella for each chalet, bathrobes, and candles. A great stay.

The owners only accept adults, which makes sense to me because the grounds are steep and there's an elevator, so they want to keep children safe. The rooms are very clean and well equipped, and every day when we came back from breakfast they smelled freshly cleaned. You can see how much Rony and Lili do to make guests comfortable. Lili's breakfast was fresh and really good, with homemade breads, jams, cakes, fruit salad, and fresh juice. A wonderful place to be close to nature.
