Catussaba Suites Resort

The cleaners banged around for hours, and even after I complained to the front desk, the noise kept tormenting me. Customer service was just terrible. You’d expect more from a hotel calling itself three stars. Brazilians are decades behind on service and quality. They just don’t care!

The air conditioning was weak and noisy, and my room didn’t feel very clean. Still, the facility is great, with an awesome pool area. The attendants were polite and breakfast was very good.

The photos were so misleading. I booked an Executive room expecting the hammock overlooking the pool, but got a noisy street view and no hammock. At check-in they also refused my Agoda voucher, so I had to pay extra. I’ll never come back.

There are lots of mosquitoes at night, so bring insect repellent. The room was clean and the wifi worked well. The hotel suits an overnight stay, especially if you want to be near the airport and away from downtown Salvador. There’s a free connection with the resort, where you can use the pool, gym and beach. The restaurant is pricey, though the mostly Brazilian food is good, and there are a few other restaurants nearby.
