Breakfast was awesome, and I loved how warm and friendly the service was. The room didn't look like the pictures, though. The hotel is old and needs a lot of improvements. The location wasn't great either, with drug users throughout the area. Because of shark attacks, the beach isn't suitable for swimming. Even on the 15th floor I could hear disturbing noises in the corridor, which felt scary. I woke up at midnight to a strange sound out there, tried to switch on the light, and it wouldn't work. I'd suggest adding more outlets in the room. Despite all that, I plan to come back.

The breakfast was good, and the hotel is right on the beach. The only place that seemed safe for swimming was by the coral cliffs. The other areas should be avoided because of sharks. The rooms need a proper renovation, and although the bathroom looks updated, the work seems unprofessional.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were really nice and comfortable, with good beds and a nice bathroom. There's a small pool and lounge area right by the beach. It's not far from the airport, and Uber is probably the best way to get transfers. There's a little shop in the foyer, mostly souvenirs, but with a pretty good selection of women's beachwear.

The staff were very friendly, but this definitely doesn't feel like a four-star hotel. More like one or two stars. The rooms are old and need maintenance, and the building needs a lot of work.

At Costa Mar, the beach is right outside the door, like your front yard. You don't have to cross a busy avenue to get there, which is the case at most other hotels in Recife. You can leave the city's noise behind and fall asleep to the sound of waves.
