Pousada Shangrilá

My stay was awful. The rooms don't look the way they appear, the pillows were stained and dirty, the bedding was old, and the room smelled moldy. The door to room 03 had a crack that took away our privacy. Those weren't even the worst parts. The owner watching breakfast and the owners constantly approaching us and interfering with our stay felt unnecessary and seriously affected our privacy. Breakfast was terrible, with no variety and food that had already gone bad. The pool was dirty and the place was poorly kept. I wouldn't recommend it, especially after seeing the kind of response the owners left to the earlier message.

The location is excellent, and Cida was very attentive. It’s a simple pousada, but everything was clean and tidy, and the breakfast was delicious with a good variety. I recommend it!

Last week I stayed at this pousada, and I was disappointed as soon as I arrived. The reception area was dark and dusty, with a shelf of CDs, a counter in the middle, an old tube TV and a fridge with a few drinks. Breakfast is served in an improvised kitchen that was dusty, with cobwebs. There was a small shrine with some saints in that room, but it was very dirty too. Even the plates set out for breakfast were dusty, and the tea and coffee bottles were dirty. There was very little choice, and the fruit was overripe. The person serving didn't use basic health measures like a hair covering or hand sanitizer. I saw only two people working there, the owner and an elderly man who seemed to do almost everything. My room had a bathroom with a high step at the entrance. The poor cleaning was obvious, with a bee nest on the bathroom door. The shower pipe was so short that I had to stand against the tiles to bathe, and there were only two bars of soap. I left the comfort of my own home to stay somewhere this bad. I've stayed at many pousadas in Serra do Cipó, and I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone. My advice to the owners is to improve the facilities, cleaning and breakfast.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we felt at home from the warm welcome. The pousada is close to the Serra do Cipó shopping center, and the breakfast was fantastic. Chatting with senhor Álvaro was a treat too, haha, he has that Minas Gerais way of making people feel welcome. It was an incredible stay, nothing to complain about, and I'll definitely be back soon.
