Fazenda Leao da Montanha

We wanted to make our 8-year-old son's dream of camping come true, and our first camping trip went really well. The trails were lovely and easy, and everywhere you look the scenery seems hand-painted. The site was incredibly organized and clean, with clearly marked tent areas, easy-to-reach power points, a great shared kitchen, and clean bathrooms nearby. The couple who welcomed us were very polite and attentive. We don't know what our next camping trips will be like, but we'd definitely recommend Fazenda Leão da Montanha.

We won't be coming back to this farm, and I can't recommend it after what happened. The owner was rude from the moment we arrived, and after the storm he offered no help. The cabins had generators, but those of us camping had to sleep in our cars with everything wet. He said people who pay only 80 reais to camp can't expect much. The showers wouldn't get hot and there was no toilet paper. A storm flooded the whole camping area and knocked out the power. There were no signs warning about the areas that flood, and there didn't seem to be any drains. We were also stopped and called childish when we tried the kind of games we usually play on family camping trips. We've always been welcomed warmly at other campsites, and we'll gladly go back to those places.

The scenery is so beautiful it looks like one of those pictures you imagine living in, and you won't feel like leaving. The place is very well organized, and the host couple are wonderful and attentive. Special mention to Noah, the farm dog. We'd love to come back, and anyone who visits won't regret it.

There are several lovely places to pitch a tent, by the river, on the island, or up on the hill, and they also rent cabins. The owners are wonderful and welcomed us warmly, explaining everything we needed to make the most of the stay. The bathrooms and showers, kitchen, and dining areas were all extremely clean. There's a stove, fridge, microwave, tables, and benches to use. The camping area is beautiful, well cared for, and organized, surrounded by stunning nature. It's hard not to be charmed by it.
