Bebel Kite House

Basic but good, especially if you’re going kite surfing. Bebel and the crew are really friendly and helpful!

We arrived to find a room that was dirty and didn’t really match the listing, but decided to stay. The room had no table or desk as advertised, and there were no hangers or anywhere to put our things. We had to bring in a chair from outside. The listing photos weren’t even of our room, which was more basic. The mattress had a deep dip in the middle, and there were lots of cobwebs. At night, cockroaches came out from the conduit or the baseboard. The bathroom wiring was a serious problem. When we turned off the shower, we got shocks in our hands. We told the owner, who said the previous guest hadn’t reported anything, and advised us to wear flip-flops while showering. She said she’d call an electrician, but nobody ever came. When it rained in Jeri, the bathroom also leaked in several places, including over the shower and toilet. Jesus was very helpful, but the cutlery wasn’t properly clean, and our breakfast orders were often mixed up. We found a local promotion and decided to switch pousadas, but the host refused to change the dates, so we had to cancel without any refund. I don’t recommend it.

Jesus is such a sweetheart, and the owners are lovely too. Mila and Nescau, the dogs, are gentle and adorable. The room was great, with air conditioning, a comfy bed, and a hot shower. Breakfast was very good, especially the tapioca, eggs made to order, and their delicious cheese. The pousada is well located, near the main streets and the trail to Pedra Furada.

Bebel, who owns the pousada, was a wonderful host, always attentive and eager to make us feel welcome. Jesus, one of the staff, was lovely too. On our first day she walked with us to the village restaurants and suggested places to eat. I stayed with my family at Bebel Kite House in Jeri from 29/07 to 31/07. It has a charming feel and is conveniently close to the village’s main streets, the main beach, little markets, and a bakery.
