The outside looks charming, but the rooms are tiny and dark, and the bathrooms smell of sewage. At around US$80 a night, the price felt insulting. You’d pay about the same in São Paulo, Fortaleza or Rio de Janeiro for a much larger, better room. For a small hostel somewhere else, I might call it acceptable, but not at this price. Reception kept pushing expensive tours and pressing us to stay another night. That didn’t feel professional. There are plenty of other hotels in town, or you could look for beaches in the northeast that are emptier and feel more authentic. This town seems overrated and overpriced, especially considering average salaries in this part of the country.

The service was great, and both the food and rooms were good. It’s not very close to the center.
