Yolo has a nice touch that makes it easy for guests to meet and share ideas and experiences. The staff were attentive, kind, and welcoming. The location is excellent, and the place is organized, though cleanliness could be better. I asked for a refund and left before my planned departure date. The two shared, gender inclusive bathrooms serve everyone, but they're poorly maintained and too small for the number of guests. One has a five minute shower limit, and its shower tap comes loose whenever you turn the water on or off. In the other, the faucet is as wide as the sink, so there's no room to wash both hands together, and exposed plaster looks bad. Both bathrooms also have exposed electrical wiring that gets damp during showers. They need careful investment in renovations and maintenance. There isn't a TV, though I didn't mind that. Instead there's a pool table with a pocket. I stayed in a shared room advertised on Booking for six people, but it had nine beds arranged as three triple bunks. I also tried the camping tent, which gave more privacy, but it was set up between an air conditioner and a washing machine that both ran through the night. It isn't a good setup if you sleep lightly and want to rest. Whether the price is worthwhile depends on what a guest is looking for. Other hostels, such as GVR Praia, offer better value. I'm 63 and have extensive travel experience across Brazil, the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia, which informs the opinion I'm sharing.

I stayed in July 2025 and felt very welcome. The rooms were neat and organized, the atmosphere was friendly, and the location is great. There are set check-in and check-out times. The owners and volunteers aren't obligated to look after a guest's luggage after check-out. That would only apply if the guest pays for Day Use and uses the service they purchased.

Yolo is a simple hostel with a great setup: air-conditioned rooms, spacious bathrooms, and a wonderful team. The location is perfect, just 100m from Tambau beach and near markets, pharmacies, a bakery, and restaurants. I highly recommend it and would stay here again.

I've stayed at practically every hostel in the area, and I can say this is easily the best. The place is well organized, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the team is extremely attentive. The experience was excellent from start to finish.
