Hotel Cabo Branco Atlântico

The hotel sent up a complimentary cheese platter and a chilled bottle of spumante when we arrived, which was a lovely surprise. Breakfast was included and, because of the precautions in place at the time, was served in our room. There was plenty of food: eggs, tapioca, breads, cheeses, cold cuts, cake, and tropical fruit. My only complaint was that there wasn’t enough coffee for us, though we drink a lot. Inside, the hotel is attractively decorated, and our room was spacious with a very comfortable Sealy Posturepedic bed. The staff were as pleasant and helpful as could be. There’s a rooftop bar and pool with a great view of the Atlantic Ocean, plus free indoor parking. It’s also the closest hotel to Ponto do Seixas, the easternmost point of the Americas. I’d wanted to stay here ever since first coming to the area, so when we had to be in town for a night, I took the chance to book it.

The king-size bed was old and noisy, and the other room features also seemed dated. Water didn’t drain properly from the shower floor. Breakfast could use more care: the tapioca pudding was dry, while the cake was creamy when it should’ve been drier. The buffet tapiocas were dry too, since they should be made when someone is about to eat. I asked for a fresh one, but it came thick and with very little filling.

The rooftop has the best views of Jampa, and the room and breakfast were both awesome. Cabo Branco and Seixas beaches are a bit far, though you can walk there in a few minutes and enjoy them. There’s no valet service, but the free parking is safe and works fine.

Service was good, and the breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. Management didn’t handle breakfast very efficiently, though. One day we had to wait a long time for an open table. The pool area wasn’t nice. Our room with a balcony and sea view was okay, but the other rooms didn’t seem very good.
