San Felipe Hotel

Great.

I’ve stayed at this hotel for a long time, and it’s always been my first choice and the place I recommend to friends. But my last stay this year left me disappointed. The bed in my room had an old, poor-quality mattress that gave me back pain, while my mother-in-law’s air conditioner was so noisy she had to turn it off to sleep. The hotel also needs maintenance: dirty walls, old paint and doors, old sheets and towels, and even the bathroom trash bin had no lid. After seeing all that, I felt discouraged and will consider other places before booking here again.

The central location made it easy to get around on foot, and the quiet was another plus. The receptionists were attentive, and the hotel’s structure met my needs well. The room was a bit small, though in Juazeiro’s busy center, where space is valuable and the city wasn’t planned around hotels, that’s understandable. The parking area fits only a few cars, and I’m not sure how they could improve that given how sought-after the center is. A general update to the beds, mattresses, paint, doors, and overall look would improve the hotel, and adding more variety to the good breakfast would help too. These are just a few suggestions. I know investing takes money and getting a return, and making money in this country isn’t easy for many people. Even so, the hotel served my needs well.

I was disappointed with the hotel. When my family and I arrived, the person at reception wasn’t welcoming. She also told us that if we took our car out and there wasn’t a space when we came back, the hotel wouldn’t take responsibility. We had traveled from another state, and nobody had told us about this when we booked. There were other problems too: the room TV was very small, the air conditioner took far too long to cool things down, and the beds were terrible, with one mattress placed on top of another. A real disappointment.
