We stayed three nights and booked two one day trips through their tour company. The tours were amazing and we’d highly recommend them. The accommodation was a real letdown, though, especially after seeing the photos. It was kept clean, but the construction was poor: the flimsy door had to be lifted to open, and the balcony glass doors didn’t meet the walls on either side, leaving gaps for air and mosquitoes. The room also smelled strongly of detergent, and a nearby club made it extremely noisy. Some of the management team were very helpful with tour arrangements and advice on getting to Lencois. Still, the room and pousada were poor quality for the relatively high price. My wife wouldn’t have felt safe walking into town alone.

Vitto was the best. The hostel was spotless and had everything we needed, including Netflix, good beer, and pizza. Vitto was always smiling and happy to help. He’s also a fantastic, dependable guide for tours in chapada national park, and a great photographer too.

The staff were friendly and kind, and helped answer questions about the city, tours, and trails. This is a simple, cozy pousada with rooms in different sizes to suit guests’ needs and group sizes. They all have air conditioning, a TV with internet access, and a hot shower.

We gave the stay the highest rating because the experience as a whole was very positive, though there are details that could be improved. That score doesn’t mean everything was perfect; it’s useful to compare places with a similar setup, rather than comparing a pousada with a five star hotel. The location is near the center, but there’s an uphill walk if you don’t come by car. We managed fine on foot. The room had a wonderful view of the city, nature, and a waterfall. It was clean enough that our usual hotel allergies didn’t bother us. Breakfast covered all the essentials, with breads, cakes, eggs, fruit, juices, coffee, and a few extras that changed each day. The air conditioning, TV, minibar, and Wi-Fi all worked, and the shower had good hot water pressure. Extra blankets were available if it got cold. Service was good in every interaction, and occasional unexpected issues were sorted out promptly. Noise wasn’t much of a problem: neighboring houses sometimes played loud music, but with the doors and windows closed, we had no trouble sleeping.
