Pousada Canto no Bosque

We only stayed one night, but really enjoyed it. Pousada Canto No Bosque costs a little more than some Lençóis hostels and other places, yet the quality and overall experience made it worthwhile. The staff were kind and helpful, especially the charming waiter with long black hair who’s originally from Rio de Janeiro. The garden has birds, monkeys, butterflies, and other lovely animals, and there’s a comfortable pool to cool off in. Breakfast and dinner were both marvelous, with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. Our private bungalow was number 8, tucked quietly into the garden. It felt private, was nicely designed, and had everything we needed. The shower was good, the air conditioning worked, and the windows had mosquito screens. The TV gave us a bit of trouble because it couldn’t run Netflix properly, so a newer TV might be worthwhile. The hotel is reachable by car if you follow Google Maps. The setting is peaceful and surrounded by nature, away from the busy, loud village center, though the center is close enough to walk to or reach by taxi. The hotel is next to the Riberão do Meio and Cachoeira do Sossego trails.

The bedding was outstanding, and breakfast was excellent. The garden is lovely, the people are kind and helpful, and the place sits at the edge of town right by one of the trails into the park. I can’t think of anything else I’d ask for.

The cottages are small, very clean, and sleep three. It’s a romantic spot in a lovely green area, and the host is super friendly. Breakfast was delicious. I hope we can come back soon.

The food was excellent and served out in the beautiful garden. The beds and pillows were first class, as were the amenities. The location is great, surrounded by a wonderfully varied, forest-like garden.
