Hotel Dos Viajantes

The service was okay, but the rest made for a nightmare of a stay. The juice at breakfast tasted like a badly made packet mix, and the coffee was awful. Every half hour overnight, a train sounded its horn. My room looked straight out of Silent Hill, the TV wouldn’t pick up anything, and the people struggling with addiction nearby added to the bleak scene.

The bed was made neatly, and the sheets and blanket smelled clean. That was about the only good part. The bathroom was grimy, the room floor felt sticky, and the place had a bad smell. It felt like an abandoned asylum, with people struggling with addiction around it. The heat was brutal: just a weak fan, no air conditioning, and an ancient TV. The floorboards were loose and barely any water came from the shower. Room 39 was like a horror movie, and Silent Hill has nothing on it. Trains pass and sound their horns every half hour. The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I’d give it zero stars if that were an option. Stay away.

I’m in the newer wing, and the room still has a high, uncomfortable bench instead of a chair. I asked for a chair, but the hotel doesn’t have any. The bathroom only has a partial shower enclosure, though there’s a squeegee to push the water away. The bath towel is so small it could pass for a face towel. The TV doesn’t get much to watch, either. Terrible. I don’t recommend it to anyone, and I’m never coming back.

They’re renovating and restoring the rooms, and it’s looking really good. I was glad we could bring our dogs. Breakfast had fruit, but there wasn’t anything for someone who’s strictly vegetarian. They could offer couscous, even if they charged extra for it.
