Murano Center Hotel

Sooo good.

The air conditioning handled the region's intense heat really well, and the bed linen itself was in good shape. The two pillows already in the room were very comfortable, though the two extra ones we asked for were so worn down, or washed so much, that they were extremely thin. The towels were clean but badly worn, and some had holes. They'd also put a single bed's undersheet on a double bed. The bathroom shower area was really dirty, with mildew, soap marks, and lots of drain flies. The white doors in both the bedroom and bathroom were heavily stained. Room cleaning was disappointing too. We had a problem with the room being tidied, but reception sorted it out after we got in touch. Staff training and courtesy need work, starting with the operations manager. Apart from one receptionist and the kitchen woman on our first overnight stay, who were both lovely, the others seemed like they didn't want to be there. Guests are the customers, and without them people can't keep their jobs. Breakfast ran until 9:30, but by 8:30 there was hardly anything left to eat. On the first day, the kitchen woman made tapioca and a smoothie fresh for us. The next day, another employee answered very sharply that she wouldn't make anything, saying, "it's just what's on the counter." She only partly replenished the fruit, and refilled the water, after I asked. She did it while huffing, too. I don't think the stay was worth the money. The hotel could offer a really pleasant experience, but it needs to invest in staff training, cleaning, pillows, and bath linens.

It felt really welcoming and pleasant, and I felt very comfortable. The service was great. The reception team deserves a pat on the back!

I've stayed here before, over a year ago, and came back recently. The hotel keeps getting better. Congratulations on the steady improvements!
