Getting to the spot was easy, and I loved it during my trip: flat water and small waves, mangrove and ocean, light wind in the morning and stronger wind in the afternoon. The bungalows are really comfortable and close by. Caju bungalos is the best place to stay in Macapa, and in Nordeste! Vania was an amazing host, kind and always ready to help, with so much care in every detail. She’s also a wonderful cook. Thanks again, Vania 🌺. I can’t wait to come back!

The kite launching point is about 50m from the Pousada, though beginners should walk a little farther so they don’t start in the rio. We had a lovely welcome from Vania and Jose, who speak fluent English. Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast. I absolutely recommend staying at Caju.

I’ve been coming to North-East Brazil to kite for several years, and Caju Bangalos is definitely one of the best value-for-money places to stay. The bungalows are charming and comfortable. Vania and Jose are wonderful, attentive hosts. I highly recommend this Pousada.

The kitesurf spot is gorgeous, and you can launch just 50 meters from the pousada with help from the owners, José or Vania. The food was among the best we had in Brazil. The place feels like home, and both owners are friendly and professional. If you love kitesurfing and want a place with a little extra, this is a good choice. Everything you’ve read about this pousada is true.

Caju Bangalos is tucked away on Brazil’s North coast in Macapá, right by the river. The beach is a three-minute walk, or less if you’re not carrying kite gear. It’s a great place to unwind after a day on the water. Vania and Jose, the owners, are incredibly friendly and helpful. The spacious bungalows are clean, with care put into the details. You can store and clean your kite equipment right at the pousada. Vania’s cooking is lovely in the morning and evening. A kiter’s dream.
