We went for lunch and ended up having a terrible experience. After we ordered at the beach restaurant, a waiter came back five minutes later and said we had to register at reception and pay R$80 to use the pool. We hadn't planned to use it, so it felt like an entrance fee. I asked if we could add the charge to the restaurant bill, but they made us walk five minutes back to reception in the sun. That killed the mood and ruined lunch. Reception said they hadn't seen us come in, which is fair, but this policy should be posted online or at the entrance. I wouldn't recommend going. They need to change how they handle this.

The beach isn't anything special, but the resort makes up for it. It's a good place with kids, the service is personal and very good, and the prices are reasonable. Rooms were clean and spacious, and there's a small water park for children under 12.

We were in Macapa for kitesurfing, staying downtown with our 20-month-old twins. There's not much around, almost like a ghost town, though the people are very friendly. We thought we'd spend the afternoon and have lunch at this “5 star” hotel, about 7 km outside Macapa. Once there, they wanted 150 reis per adult and 60 per baby just to use the pool. A hundred euros for the pool while we were also planning to buy lunch and drinks? It felt ridiculous and not at all customer oriented. They lost our business because of poor judgment. Forget this hotel and its low-level management.
